About me

brighton starling murmuration

Based in East Sussex, I am an award-winning photographer with over 25 years’ experience creating bold, honest imagery for organisations of all sizes. My background in photojournalism means I work quickly, notice the details, and capture real moments that feel genuine.

Most of my work today is in the education sector. I collaborate with schools, colleges, and academy trusts to produce fresh, engaging photography for prospectuses, websites, and social media. The goal is simple: to show what makes each school distinctive through authentic, story-led visuals that connect with prospective families.

I often work directly with marketing and admissions teams, helping shape the brief from the outset, whether that’s content for open events, a full website refresh or a bank of images that can be used consistently throughout the year. As an experienced education photographer, I understand the balance between creating strong visuals and keeping them believable.

My approach is simple: natural light where possible, real interactions, and images that reflect everyday life rather than staged moments. The result is photography that feels current, confident and human, and that can be used across multiple platforms without quickly dating.

Alongside my education work, I shoot a variety of editorial and commercial projects and photograph football at Brighton & Hove Albion for a national sports agency. Working in live environments like sport and events means I’m used to tight deadlines, changing conditions and delivering strong, consistent results without disruption.
