School Prospectus Photographer | Sussex & Brighton

LVS Ascot Prospectus Shoot

I’m a school prospectus photographer based in Sussex, working with independent and prep schools across Brighton and the South East, including Brighton College, Brighton College Prep, LVS Ascot, Worth, LVS Hassocks, and Eton End Prep.

More about my wider school marketing photography services can be found here.

School prospectus photography is different to ongoing school photography. Rather than building a library gradually over the year, you’re working to a planned timetable with a defined brief. A single day to produce a set of images that needs to work across your prospectus, website, open day materials, social channels and admissions content. That puts a lot of weight on the planning, and on working with a photographer who understands how those images will be used once they go into a prospectus.

I started out in photojournalism, working in newsrooms where missing a shot wasn’t an option. That background shapes how I work now. I plan properly and am used to reading a situation quickly, where the light is, what’s actually happening, what’s usable and what isn’t — and adjusting without slowing things down. Most school marketing managers don’t want to direct a photographer through every decision on shoot day, they want someone they can brief and trust to deliver.

Preparing for your prospectus shoot

I work with your marketing or admissions team from the outset. What do you need to show? What’s missing from what you already have? What does the day need to look like to produce it?

A prospectus isn’t trying to capture everything, it’s about presenting a clear, structured impression of the school that holds together when it goes to design. That means thinking about balance, timing and variation across the day rather than just volume. Most schools send a draft schedule and we work through it together before anything is confirmed, making sure the day is realistic and the shot list is achievable.

Why Independent Schools Work With Me Long Term

I’ve worked with LVS across their three schools for fifteen years, Brighton College and Brighton College Prep for ten, and Worth for five. They all trust me with their biggest events of the year — Speech Day, Celebration Day, Presidents Day. Busy, high-stakes events that happen once and can’t be reshot. That kind of brief doesn’t get handed to the same photographer year after year unless it consistently goes well.

“Capturing the essence of a school’s ethos and culture in images is not easy, but Liz triumphs again and again. She is discreet and easy to work with.” Rachael Cox, Head Teacher

“Her creativity and storytelling provides us with images for our website, social media and prospectus which help us stand out as an education provider in Sussex.” Howard Griggs, Digital Marketing Manager, Worth School

The Final Image collection

You get a set of images that fit together as a complete package. Not just strong individual shots, but enough variation across subjects, spaces and pupil groups that your layout feels balanced rather than repetitive. That’s what makes a prospectus feel considered rather than assembled. These are the images the school will rely on for the next few years — across prospectus, website and admissions material.

I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and have completed safeguarding training.
